This door isn’t just beautiful; it’s massive! The slab measures an impressive 42 inches in width and 8 feet in height. With the entire system towering over 105 inches, achieving the right proportions was crucial. Thanks to meticulously crafted custom paneling, the door maintains a balanced and elegant appearance despite its grand size.
Details That Make a Statement
The details truly make this door extraordinary. The chrome hardware, sourced from the renowned Emtek hardware, perfectly complements the sleek black finish. Adding a personal touch, the client brought a stunning chrome door knocker all the way from the UK. To complete the look, we fabricated custom chrome numbers locally, ensuring every element was perfectly tailored to the client’s vision.
Beyond Aesthetics: Ensuring Longevity
While aesthetics were a top priority, durability and functionality were equally important. During the installation, we discovered that the previous door, despite being only two years old, had been improperly installed. This oversight had already caused minor water damage to the subfloor beneath it. Before proceeding, we repaired and waterproofed the subfloor to ensure the new door system could stand the test of time.
